3D EMOTE

Assignment

Using the Low Poly 3D Person Starter File, create a basic emote animation or walk cycle. (Waving, crying, cheering, boasting, etc) An armature should be set up for the characters body, head, arms, and legs, and parented to the 3D model itself. Your walkcycle / emote should be approximately 3-5 seconds in length.

Once finished, you should render your scene as a video animation, upload it to Youtube or Vimeo, and link it to your design blog. Also be sure to take several work-in-progress screenshots from inside of Blender and include them in your blog post as well with very brief text descriptions of each.

For my 3D Emote, I wanted to make my person do a front walkover into a split. When I did dance, this was something fun we would do, so I wanted to recreate it. I started by finding a reference image that was closest to what I wanted to replicate:

I decided to make my animation 110 frames and put keyframes at every 10. For each frame, I was in pose mode and positioned each body part in the position and rotation I wanted then inserted a keyframe. After that, I made sure it ran smoothly and made any adjustments. I added a background and sun light so it would be easier to see my character in action.
