MEDIEVAL HOME/STRUCTURE

Assignment: Using your introductory knowledge of 3D modeling with Blender, create a medieval-styled home or structure using primitive shapes and objects.  While the detail and scope of this project can vary (you are not expected to create Hogwarts or Minas Tirith) there should be a significant amount of time and effort placed into the assignment.  Structures will likely exceed 100 or more primitive objects.  Additionally, your structures should include at least 5 different material colors within.

For my Medieval home, I started with a basic house structure with the base and created a roof by splitting it, joining the edges then extruding different parts of it outwards as my base. I then proceeded to create a bunch of shingles that I rotated and extruded in various ways to make it look as man-made as possible. Then, I added a chimney using seven different cubes that I reshaped and transformed into three main pieces and then four to outline the top of the chimney. Next, I added all of the wood planks lining the outside walls and front of the house. Finally, I added my door and smaller details like a handle, hinges, and horizontal wood pieces. I made sure all of my objects had a material set to them, but I couldn't figure out how to get the materials to not stretch on the chimney and front of the house, so I left them as is. Finally, I created a white platform with two walls for my house to sit on and adjusted the lighting (I chose the sun) and camera.
