RETRO TRAPPER KEEPER

Assignment: Using a combination of 3D primitive models, basic materials, lighting, and hybrid 2D art assets, create a retro-style Trapper Keeper design.  The likely steps you will take will be to render your 3D objects first and then import them into Photoshop or Illustrator to apply additional 2D artwork and layers.

For my Retro Trapper Keeper, I first looked up some images for inspiration. I love the grid and cubes in the examples and ones I found, so I decided to make those the focus of my design. I started by creating the background using a plane and made it a hot pink color then I added a grid and modified the thickness so it was 0.02. After that, I started playing around with various shapes. I made the Rubix cubes first and made sure there was one of each colored cube showing on each side. Then I added more planes and really thin cylinders. I rescaled and rotated my objects so that it was clear that they are 3D. Finally, I brought my rendered image into Procreate and added neon elements, light flares, and squiggles to finish off the piece!
