INDIVIDUAL LIVESTREAM WEEK 1

Assignment:

Script,  prepare, and schedule for this week's live stream production.  Once prepared, go live at your scheduled time and conduct your stream.  Streaming sessions should likely be 30 minutes on the sorter end and up to 2 hours or more on the longer end.  Experiment and take note of what is working well and what is not.

My first live stream was on Saturday, February 13th at 12 pm MST and it went for about 40 minutes. This live stream was a get to know me and my business, a brief tour of my set-up, and I ended with a Q&A session! I wanted this stream to be on the shorter end and it was definitely a great trial to see how things would work with the set-up I have.

Some troubles I ran into were with the audio. I accidentally had two audio inputs that were causing it to echo for the first 20 minutes of my stream and wasn't able to see the chat when people let me know, but I ended up getting it resolved for the last 20 minutes of the stream. I also had an issue with using my iPhone as a webcam. I used Epoc Cam and downloaded the app on my phone, but the video was lagging behind the audio which made it hard to understand what I was talking about. I also struggled with setting it up and getting the camera to connect over wifi.

I was worried I wouldn't have enough things to talk about or show, but this ended up not being a problem! I enjoyed my set-up and will most likely continue to stream this way. I used my ring light to assist with lighting and everything else besides the issues I had above went pretty smoothly. Next time, I'm going to double-check my audio and other input sources I'm using to make sure they're working before I start.
