Course Description: This course is a detailed exploration into the emerging and ever more important realm of live-streaming production and content development. As with many other forms of traditional media, the limitations on content creators is no longer a major setback in terms of producing professional quality, engaging content for online and remote audiences. As society continues to socially distance, the methodologies explored within this course will help students emerge as proficient and knowledgeable practitioners of live-streaming content production and become influential creative leaders and technical experts within this ever-expanding discipline.

Through lectures, class discussions, technical demos, projects, and critiques, this course will prepare students to develop compelling live-streaming experiences and will impart a strong critical understanding of the historical and conceptual impacts of live media on the web. This course will focus on creating engaging experiences utilizing established tools and techniques for live-streaming production including Open Broadcast Software, motion graphics, sound & set design, visual asset development, and more. I took this class in Spring '21.
