WEEK 8 PROGRESS

1. What were your goals for this week?

- Finish final animation

- Finish marker design

- Finish overalls

- Go to Macy's for mannequins

- Reach out to Amy on Wednesday

2. What did you accomplish, please reflect on your time management. What worked or didn't?

I accomplished everything on my list. However, I am still trying to figure out marker designs for the plastic bottles and flowers. I decided to stick with the fire animation because it was my original idea and will have the biggest impact, so that's what I did. When I went to Macy's they did not have any mannequins that would work for me, so I ended up getting two displays and a cardboard head (see below) to display my work.

3. How did you integrate feedback?

I integrated feedback from Hannah May and used this set of overalls from the website she sent over as the main inspiration for my design. I ended up doing squares for the patchwork because this made cutting the patterns much easier (this was feedback from Sasha).

4. What was unexpected / what lessons did you learn?

Patchwork took much longer than I thought it would, but I'm glad I got it done first. I also learned that it is easiest to get the desired animation outcome by changing things in Blender rather than my code.

Final Animation (Fire)

See my final animation below:

Finish Marker Designs

These are the markers I really want to use. The only one that worked was for the fire (see video), and I'm not sure why the other two were not working. I simplified the flower one even more and it still didn't work. I'm struggling with these because I want them to be artistic and look nice.

Finish Overalls

Here is a video overview of my finished overalls. I took step-by-step video and photo documentation but didn't think it was necessary to include it here. In total, I spent $8.30 on the overalls because I used fabric and hardware I already had. I purchased additional fabric and hardware from Art Parts:

- Hardware (2 buckles, 2 button pins, 2 clasps) = $2.00

- Fabric Remnants ($6.30)

I decided to wait on pockets because that is where I'm putting my markers, but I wasn't ready to commit yet. I also included a photo of me in them to show that they are actually wearable!

Go to Macy's for Mannequins

As mentioned earlier, I didn't get mannequins, but here is what I did get for displaying each of my items separately. I plan on painting and putting the bioplastic process on the head. The marker will be the last part with the blooming flowers coming out as a result. The total was $20 for everything.
